WHISKY HILL DRAM JAM

Annual blowout whisky tasting hosted by Uisgetom in Upstate New York

This is one of my favorite privately hosted recurring tastings - an amazing annual get-away to indulge ourselves in all things excessively male.  Huge quantities of single malt, monster piles of grilled and smoked meat (mostly dispatched by our host), homemade haggis, 3" thick pizzas - it's a remarkable experience that gets better every year.  The first gathering was held in Spring 2000. 

I really need to get these summaries posted so stay tuned.

• 2005 - no tasting this year since we were all in Scotland visiting the Children and attending FEIS ILE in May.  We had our share of excess for that spring so we skipped a year.

• 5th Annual WHDJ - 2004

• 4th Annual WHDJ - April 2003 (I missed this event because I closed on the HDI and moved right in that weekend - too bad since this was very well attended...)

• 3rd Annual WHDJ - May 2-4, 2002

• 2nd Annual WHDJ - 2001

• The Original Whisky Hill Dram Jam - 2000

In the past we've had women in attendance which I believe has played an important "humanizing" influence on this gathering - however for the 2002 tasting it's looking like it will be all men...  and loads of vitamin B-1...   

Technical Note:  This year I'm trying a different approach and documenting my Vitamin B-1 intake.  Many PLOWEDsters believe that Vitamin B-1 is the secret to dramming success.  Testing testing testing...

...gotta say yes to another malt excess...
